I had the pleasure of working alongside Linda Bui to develop the art direction and final 3D art for the Meta Quest 3S packaging and its line-up of accessories. As part of this project, we also refreshed the packaging art for the Meta Quest 3, with the goal of thinking about the product line as a system with a clear visual hierarchy.
We worked for months to explore different possible ways of differentiating the two headsets on shelf, working within the constraints of Meta's overarching brand system and color palette. We ended up creating two different gradient color-scapes for the headsets and accessories to live within, one more vibrant to represent the entry level Quest 3S headset, and one leaning into pastel hues to represent the higher end Quest 3.
Once the hero packaging visuals were locked for both headsets, we worked together to apply this direction to the accessory ecosystem. We updated the artwork for several existing accessories, and then created new art for the new accessories launching with Quest 3S.
